Hi Shane,
I know it’s late in the season but I want to say thanks to you and Ollie. I had a great year diving with the Gods. It goes without saying good diving, craic and food are the norm for the Gods, but this year we got some special diving we haven’t had for some time, the Bills, Mweelauns and great diving around Turk and Boffin. Fantastic, just fab!
Had a ball, hate to see the cold weather coming in! So thanks again till next year,
Safe diving in Tenerife Dee.

Dear Shane,
Just to say thank you so much for a great trip to el heiro recently. It is a truly beautiful Island and so peaceful and untouristic. The hiking was super. Would have been great to have more time to explore. So much to do…….just not enough time! Loved all the scrummy food too. Really nice eclectic bunch of people on the trip. Enjoyed the chats and sharing stories.
Am envious of your lifestyle Shane! Wishing you continued success with the trips. Hope to do a trip again. Would highly reccommend el hiero.
Stay well and healthy,
Regards, Anne.

Hi Shane & Ollie,
I had meant to make an entry after El Herrio in October this year but was whisked off to South Africa too soon. The diving in El Herrio was outstanding. To see a manta ray loitering over El Bacon was something special – the craic (as usual) was mighty and hill walking exilerating.
Writing this on Christmas eve so have a great Christmas and an even better New Year.

Shano,
Just to sincerely THANK YOU & OLIE for a wonderful week in El Hierro. As with ALL God’s outings – the diving was super, the craic mighty and the company magnificent. A tremendous time had by ALL. The manta rays just made the diving “orgasmic” – as always with the gods!!.

Hi Shane n Ollie
just read Adriennes msg about Tenerife/Los Gigantes – lucky to have been on that short trip and yep loved the place that much I went back three weeks later. Just so laid back, Neville and crew at the Dive Centre great and Los Gigantes so relaxing. Super lido with stunning views of the cliffs. Great value . love to go back x

Shane,
Belated New Year greetings – looking forward to 08 GODS trips.
Also hope to see you in Tenerife. Really enjoyed Los Gigantes last year; village is so peaceful, relaxed, scenic: open air swimming pool right beside the sea’s edge. Perfect for GODS!
Diving was surprisingly good, Dive Centre bent over backwards to facilitate us -if it’s half as good as last trip, it’ll be brilliant!

Hi Shane & Ollie,
The happy memories of Easter 2007 in El Hierro have not faded. We had one week of walks, eating, drinking and great craic with wonderful people in an incredible place which we had never heard of. We were asked if it was among our top ten holidays ever. It was in the top three and a gold medal contender. We hope to go back but we do not think it can be in 2008.
Many thanks again,
harry and Margaret.

Hi Shane, Thanks indeed for organising another excellent diving trip. Please convey our gratitude to your beloved Ollie. We all enjoyed it but in particular it was magic for young Greg who is in boarding school. Conor and Caroline enjoyed everything; diving, quadbiking in the desert and playing with wild dolphins. Fidelma, though not diving, gave it ten out of ten.
Cheers, Vincent

Hi Shane, Back to work today after wonderful week. Thank you so much for taking so much trouble to make the holiday so full of fun and enjoyment. As a ‘not so experienced walker’ I found all the alternatives you provided on the days I did not do the full walk wonderful. The swims, the slide show, the day at the hotel (can’t remember the name) having all those wonderful treatments. Meals were delicious and so reasonably priced – I was totally spoilt. Can’t stop thinking about the try dive – think I could be addicted!! Thanks for taking to the End of the World and back.

Hi Shane,
Sorry, it’s a bit of an that it’s taken me so long to get around to this; maybe I was just so blown away from the FANTASTIC trip that I wasn’t thinking straight !
What can I write about the trip that hasn’t been written before?
Well, we were all when we arrived, when we dived, and – not to mention a bit – when the time came to leave. We had the -est holiday ever, thanks again.
By the way, I was down in SDW this weekend too. Good to see once again that the sons have inherited the father’s organisational flair. Had an amazing time there too, as usual.
Thanks once again,
CU again next year, with a bit of luck.
Ross.

Great holiday.
El Hierro is a superb island to visit, unspoilt by tourism and spectacular. Great holiday, and free Jethro jokes thrown in, compliments of Shane Gray.
Can’t recommend it enough.

Hi there.
I’m a german guy who’s living (not all time of the year but sometimes) on the island of El Hierro for more than 20 years now, also a writer for several german magazins publicated on the Canary Islands and owner of the oldest (since 95) german Website about the region.
I know Shane and his kind of showing the folks the wonderful landscapes and diving places on the islands and can only say: DO IT! Do it with Shane. He’s a great guy and knows a lot of his biz.
BTW: This is my absolutely NEUTRAL opinion, nobody pays me for it

Not long back from Oz-Barrier reef was O.K. but I can’t wait to revisit the wonderful waters off La Restinga, El Hierro( the Herring clan exercised sovereignty over the joint till the Gray warlords made a family fiefdom out of it . Give it back please) like a certain Irish shopping chain, beats ’em all every time!Do I need a visa or will my weekly pocket money suffice? Plastic surgery is on the card(S) after our round the world trip. one way or t’other I will be there and soon.
Saludos to all my readers

Marvellous Red Sea holiday and momentous diving from the beaches and from the boats. I was not suprised that it was such a successful week given it was organised by the supremo diver himself and thanks as well to herself.

What can i say, Shane the host with the most!!! All diving enthusiasts must visit El Hierro at some stage in their diving career, and what better way to do it than being guided by a mad man…but a nice mad man And if the diving were not enough there’s El bar….and El salsa….and El food…and El Spanish measured drinks….
Great holiday!!

Now that the bubbles have begun their long and weary way northwards through my head, my brain seems to be clearing…. a little.
I would like to thank both you and Ollie for arranging and making the trip to the Red Sea so much fun and putting a great group of people together. We are all looking forward to Christmas here in Bray, maybe on this holiday I will get a rest !!

Hi Shane and Ollie,
Nice to be back to the grey clouds and rain in Galway!
The biggest hardship on hitting the bright sunshine and calm seas in La Restigna is the adjustment to a steadier pace of life. The daily potter in shorts and sandals to the dive centre, the short boat journey to the dive site, the clear visibility, fish life, etc. made for an unforgettable few days diving — and Davide, the dive leader, was simply great at finding the odd nudibranch, seahorse and sea snake. Of course, the evening meals were also enjoyable. Thanks, Shane, for making the holiday so easy to enjoy.
Till next time……..

Dear Shane and Ollie,
Greetings from a chilly Dublin. Back to the winter wollies, however, warm memories of a fabulous week in November spent walking in the sunshine on the idyllic island of El Hierro make it all the more bearable!!
Thank you for organising such a great trip and for the lovely walks on the hills. Thanks also to the wonderful group of people – hillwalkers, scuba divers, El GODS (who despite their protestations are really closet hill-walkers!!) and the aspiring Godesses – who all contributed in their own unique and inimitable way to make this such a memorable and good-fun holiday.
It was a week of laughter and craic!
Will be back some day to see El Hierro during the Spingtime.

So paradise does exist on this earth and Shane sure has found it.
Ta Shane for a very well organised trip. We had a wonderful time in El Hierro.
Ta also to our fellow walkers and divers who kept us on our feet day and night, what a lively bunch.
We will return again and again….

Hi Shane
Excellent organisation prior to arrival, good accommodation and most enjoyable company for a week’s walking back in March – many thanks. This was my first hill walking holiday and El Hierro was the perfect location.
Veronica Sanderson (Dublin, Ireland) on 08 Sep 2008 at 8:53 pm #
Dear Shane
I was delighted to receive your note and it is with pleasure that I sign in your guest book! The week I spent in El Hierro this past November was simply great. The walking was not only demanding but the locations, views, and company were beyond compare. I would thoroughly recommend the trip to anyone; walker or diver. Having a mixture of the two on the week I was part of led to some wonderful and memorable times both in daylight hours and after dark! HELLO to all the gang…… and the Gentlemen who were there with myself and Una!
p.s. Definately going to do the scuba dive course this summer in the West!
Joe Ahern (Dublin, Ireland) on 08 Sep 2008 at 8:52 pm #
Hello Shane and Ollie,
Many thanks for a great week in El Hierro-excellent diving, walking, craic and company. My particular compliments to that talented and exotic group of walkers who made the trips up and down the hills so entertaining.
Good luck on your travels and looking forward to future ‘GODS’ activity.
Regards
Joe Ahern.

Thanks for a great dive holiday. Apart from the diving which is excellent, the attention you pay to each group is what makes this a special trip.

Hi Shane & Ollie,
Cooleen and I really enjoyed our winter break with you on El Hierro (Nov ’04). The diving was fabulous and the hill walking was …. hilly. It was also spectacular. El Hierro is a wonderful place to chill out and the organisation and craic was only excellent. I’m just about to burn a CD ROM of the photos for you.
Thanks a million.

Shane and Ollie,
Many thanks for another great trip to El Huero (Nov 04). Mixing the diving and the walking is to be recommended to all. A good way to see the whole island and of finding out if divers are fit or not! Social activities as good as ever.
Thanks again and bon voyage on Red Sea trip and world tour (again!)

That surely was a wonderful GODS “Homebased” finale last weekend! Congragulations to you both upon an exceptionally well organised, and, for many, a nostalgic weekend. Kilkee Underwater, never looked better, Joe and Doc. made their their “Skinny Dog” Dive Centre, a most hospitable venue, while the “Marine” proved to be an ideal headquarters for the weekend.
Well Done,
Happy Diving in El-H.

Hail all
Red Mick & myself had a fantastic time at the weekend, good drink, good company, good food, good craic, good diving & the list goes on. Please contact us we’d be more than happy for opportunity to show a bit of Northern celestial hospitality. We know it’s not Olympus, but what can you expect from mere mortals, well perhaps legends.
All the best
